PICT 34 mods round one

This is the first set of mods I did to my Pict 34-3. I'm working on making it the ultimate cheap offroad carb, so I'll be trying lots of different stuff.

First mod was to delete all the choke components. This includes the butterfly, shaft, and choke controller on the side.

This is straight down the throat now that the plate is removed.

This is the choke assy removed with a hacksaw

Much cleaner on the side now

I also removed and plug the idle fuel shut off solenoid. The way to do this is cut the solenoid off right at the nut, remove all internal components, and fill with RTV.

I also experimented with venting the bowl up higher to stop fuel spilling into the throat on vertical climbs. This was my first rendition and not what I stayed with, I'll post the second version shortly.

Next post will continue on the Pict 34 mods. Next time we will get into throttle plate mods, port work, venturi mods, externally venting the float bowl, and some other work internally and externally. Until next time.

Hello everyone

This is gonna be a basic blog for the guys who build their own stuff in their garage. Any and all kinds of mechanics, beer drinkers, and white trash will be welcome here. If you like to modify your own junk, make your own parts, and use what you got to build what you can then you belong here. I named it the PICT 34 chronicles because that will be one of my major products is making a Solex Pict 34/3 carb work as well as possible on my 1641 cc VW railbuggy. So look for some serious in depth stuff on that front, plus all manor of fab and mechanical projects to come out of the garage. Please feel free to post your own stuff also. Thanks guys
